Forgive me blogger’s for I have sinned!

Forgive me blogger’s for I have sinned, it’s been nearly 2 weeks since my last post, and I’m starting to feel a bit guilty. Then I visited a few of my favourite blogs and they have not posted for weeks too, so now I don’t feel as bad.

So what have I been up to, you ask? Well during the past 2 weeks we have had 2 bank holidays for Easter and seen the arrival of spring, although it is gray and dull out side at the moment. Most of my free time during the week end was taken up with housework and getting out enjoying the sunshine, the house work revolved around the garden, the dreaded first cut of the lawn and the getting out of the patio furniture, hopefully this year it will get a bit more use.

On the photography front I have been out and about shooting for the Leek blog and collating images for my next exhibition. The good weather has revitalised my photography and I have got a good number of shots that I am happy with over the last few weeks, now all I need is the time to work on them.

Very little news on the job front, I’m amazed at the way the moral is still very high in the office, at times you would think nothing was happening and it will just go on for ever.

Photo today was taken in the Peak District, we were photographing the Para gliders when I got this shot, moments later I found myself covered in blue nylon as the Para glider went backwards instead of forwards, not the normal thing to happen on a walk in the countryside.

Lovely photo! I took some nice ones myself there 2 years ago, on a really cold but very sunny day in February when there were lots of paragliders around!

Climate change, I have to admit that I’m very skeptical about the existence of climate change and the whole global warming thing. My basis for this is that we (humans) have only been here for such a short time and for a large period of that were not really in a position to judge what was happening around us. An even smaller period of time is the length of time we have been able to accurately measure things like temperature or the size of the ice caps, so to be able to say that things are changing outside of the norm, when we really have no idea what the norm is, is like seeing a snow flake and predicting the start of an ice age. Now I known that lots of very important people seem to have been convinced that there is a problem but remember past world leaders and experts also had some strange ideas (flat earth, virgin birth, communist ruling the plant, woman’s heads over heating if they learn too much). I wrote this as part of the second days post: “365 different photos, I’m daunted and intrigued at the same time. Daunted with the task of taking the images and writing words to tie it all together and intrigued at what will be here in a year’s time. Will anybody see this? Will it make any sense?” 70,849 words, 367 photos, 3014 comments, and 43358 visitors from 164 countries later and it’s all done, I’m 42 and have the answer to those questions. Yes somebody has seen it and no it really does not make much sense, but that really does not seem to matter that much. I wanted to mark the passing of a year in my life and have ended up with a fantastic record of a year in both words and pictures. More than that it has changed my life, I have gained a confidence I never had, I can write without fear, my photography skill has improve and I realise that you can do nearly anything if you work at it. New Year

 It's been a few months and lots has happened, firstly Caz is doing very well, the first part of the treatment, the operation, went very well and she has made a great recovery, the next part, radiotherapy starts soon and should not take long then its just tablets for 10 years. I had the misfortune to catch Covid in the run up to Christmas, the main illness was just like a bad hangover, but the lingering effects are taking a toll of me, with a shortness of breath and lack of energy. We did manage to get away just after Christmas to Cornwall, see the picture above. The reason I am blogging today is that I have just done a video for next months calendar page/photo, and had to look at the first blog post, it then got me all nostalgic. I really miss those days, there was a community of like minded souls, and I forgot how much I miss them.
