Blog of the week - Vodkamom
She makes me smile, that the whole nomination for Vodka mom and a better reason I can not think of, I’ve visited her blog a number of times and have to agree, she does have away of making a few words really hit the spot. With over a 1000 followers this on is not a big secret but still very deserving of a visit. The post below was inspired by her post on Thursday and I left it as a comment, one of my longest ever!
Sitting with a friend and her mum the subject of teenage parties came up, her mum asked, without fear of recrimination as the event was 15 years in the past, how after she had been away for the weekend, someone had thrown up on the ceiling. She had not asked at the time as she really did not think she would like the answer, but felt that she could take it now.
My friend explained that her and her 2 siblings were incapacitated through drink and a third party had been ill in the living room. One of the less drunk guest decided to hoover up the mess and mid way through the task hit the wrong switch and fired the contents of the hoover straight at the ceiling. This event was kept from the 3 of them by the culprit and the next day it was missed in the mad rush to clean the house and remove the evidence, who looks up when cleaning a room?
Now on to another party, this shot was taken on Castle crag on Caz’s birthday and sums up why I just love my photos taken on mountain tops. The images are like all photo a moment in time but also a moment in space as well, a defined point that sometimes has taken hours to get there and weeks in the planning. This shot shows the joy of celebrating a birthday with special friends in a special place. For those of you that don’t recognise me from my profile photo I’m the one in the red, camera remote controls are brill.
