Scoat fell

It’s sunny so I have spent a good part of the day at various doctors’ surgeries. First was my own doctor for yet another sick note, then it was over to Stoke on Trent to see a doctor employed by the company. Coupled with the regular visits to the osteopath I am get sick of being sick

On the plus side I have cleaned and sorted all my camera kit and learned to use fill in flash, a technique that has escaped my grasp for many years, but which I may need in the coming few weeks.

The photo for today comes from an on going collection of shots, based around our attempts to climb all the Wainwrights in the lake district, this has now been done but I am still missing photos of us at the top of some of them, although this is no bad thing as it means we will just have to go back and do them again. The first of these that I am going to run over the next few post was taken at the top of Scoat fell, and yes they are both dangling their feet over quite a long drop, but what a great spot to eat your lunch.

I think I'd be losing my lunch if I had to sit there, not eating it!

If I can make a suggestion, the next post about the wainwrights surely needs a track by Rufus Wainwright himself to accompany, no?

Climate change, I have to admit that I’m very skeptical about the existence of climate change and the whole global warming thing. My basis for this is that we (humans) have only been here for such a short time and for a large period of that were not really in a position to judge what was happening around us. I wrote this as part of the second days post: “365 different photos, I’m daunted and intrigued at the same time. Daunted with the task of taking the images and writing words to tie it all together and intrigued at what will be here in a year’s time. Will anybody see this? Will it make any sense?” 70,849 words, 367 photos, 3014 comments, and 43358 visitors from 164 countries later and it’s all done, I’m 42 and have the answer to those questions. Yes somebody has seen it and no it really does not make much sense, but that really does not seem to matter that much. Have you ever put something off, that you really should have done, I have, getting assessed for dyslexia. Nearly my whole life I have had problems spelling, and have done every thing to avoid getting tested, why, because I was scared that I would not have it and be told I was just thick or lazy. Well yesterday I got tested, and the results surprised me. First I was informed that my reading ability was good to high, next I was informed that I have an IQ of over 120 (140 and over Genius or near genius 120-140 Very superior intelligence 110-120 Superior intelligence 90-110 Normal or average intelligence 80-90 Dullness 70-80 Borderline deficiency Below 70 Definite feeble-mindedness 70-80 Borderline deficiency 50-69 Moron 20-49 Imbecile below 20 Idiot.) They have changed the lower classification for a more PC wording but this is the original.
