Bricks and water

For the first time in a while I have more photographs than I known what to do with, resent holidays and days off have left me with a glut of images to work on and no time to do anything to them, I need a few rainy days with nothing to do!

So what’s been taking up all my time, well, the photo exhibition is my main concern at the moment, here is the information that has gone into the guide for the Leek arts festival, Leeks annual arts month which pulls together a wide mix of artist endeavours over the month of May and something I’m proud to be a part of for the first time.

Bricks and water

Inspired by the wonderful mix of water, light and reflections, comes a selection of images from the natural world. Juxtaposed with a collection of images from the man made world high lighting some of the fantastic buildings we have locally.

Crafted by local photographer Brett Trafford and wonderfully display in the Coffee Clique, Getliffe’s yard from the 1st of May to the 31st of May.

The title for the exhibition came from a girl at work, I had the photos I wanted to use, but no way of tying them together, so ask my work mates to try, after ½ an hour out popped this one and the rest is history.

The other big stealer of my time is the Leek blog, now in its second year, I’m finding it hard to keep getting shots for it, the ideas are there but getting the time to take the photos and post them is getting harder to find, today being a good example as it is wonderful out there but I’m stuck in here with loads to do, so I can free up some time at the weekend. The list of jobs to do this morning includes, ordering (and designing) post cards, business cards and photo mounts, finalising and ordering prints for the exhibition, designing a catalogue and slide show for the exhibition and putting together a weeks worth of posts for the Leek blog! I’ve no chance!

So here is a photo taken a few weeks ago of one of the Ladybower dams in the peak district.

Congratulations on the show! I've been craving a wander around with my camera lately, but the weather has been killing me. This is certainly inspiring!
