Muffs and baps

I’m back, what nobody’s missed me! Thanks to the wonders of modern technology you would have never known I had been away, but I have, for a whole week. Yes a whole week with no computer and no blog. As the blog is not anonymous I did not want to advertise the fact we were going away for a week so I used Blogger new write now post later feature, so twice the blogging fix one week then nothing the next, odd.

Where were we, the Lake District, doing the Wainwrights, got 11 more done and 13 gig of photos, 2331 pictures all ready to sort, file and process. Thank you for all the comments it was the other thing I was looking forward to coming home for (Kep being the main one as he stayed at the in-laws). So today picture is the first from the Lakes trip( lots more coming up) a snow ball fight on top of Pillar, taken on Wednesday, Trevor doing the honours. Normal service will resume on Monday as lots of Blogs to read and comments to pass.

Welcome home!
There was something missing from your blog this week, it sort of felt like you were somewhere else! It just seemed more impersonal somehow (spooky!!)

Climate change, I have to admit that I’m very skeptical about the existence of climate change and the whole global warming thing. My basis for this is that we (humans) have only been here for such a short time and for a large period of that were not really in a position to judge what was happening around us. An even smaller period of time is the length of time we have been able to accurately measure things like temperature or the size of the ice caps, so to be able to say that things are changing outside of the norm, when we really have no idea what the norm is, is like seeing a snow flake and predicting the start of an ice age. I wrote this as part of the second days post: “365 different photos, I’m daunted and intrigued at the same time. Daunted with the task of taking the images and writing words to tie it all together and intrigued at what will be here in a year’s time. Will anybody see this? Will it make any sense?” 70,849 words, 367 photos, 3014 comments, and 43358 visitors from 164 countries later and it’s all done, I’m 42 and have the answer to those questions. Yes somebody has seen it and no it really does not make much sense, but that really does not seem to matter that much. I wanted to mark the passing of a year in my life and have ended up with a fantastic record of a year in both words and pictures. More than that it has changed my life, I have gained a confidence I never had, I can write without fear, my photography skill has improve and I realise that you can do nearly anything if you work at it. New Year

 It's been a few months and lots has happened, firstly Caz is doing very well, the first part of the treatment, the operation, went very well and she has made a great recovery, the next part, radiotherapy starts soon and should not take long then its just tablets for 10 years. I had the misfortune to catch Covid in the run up to Christmas, the main illness was just like a bad hangover, but the lingering effects are taking a toll of me, with a shortness of breath and lack of energy. We did manage to get away just after Christmas to Cornwall, see the picture above. The reason I am blogging today is that I have just done a video for next months calendar page/photo, and had to look at the first blog post, it then got me all nostalgic. I really miss those days, there was a community of like minded souls, and I forgot how much I miss them.
