Dock of the day.

Could you imagine a better spot to spend a sunny afternoon, you could just sit here and watch the world go by. Having a house that backs on to the canal myself (although from 3 fields away) I can appreciate how great it must be to have the canal at the bottom of your garden, for us seeing the first boats moored up in the spring is a definite sign that the winter has ended and from then on it’s an ever changing scene of boats and people until the autumn. Having your own mooring and boat, even one this small, must be fantastic, imagine a late summer evening, your friends sitting on the dock and sausages cooking on the barbecue, and a bag of beers cooling in the canal.

As for video on the side just add a HTML box from the options then copy the code from your favorite you tube vid, you may need to adjust the size in the code(2, 3 digit number repeated twice in the code, i 1/2 them both to get it to fit). Mail me if you need any more help, and enjoy blogging.

how very true... Just having the water is a blessing for so many. I recently moved into a town with the river across the street and will never get spoiled. It's so easy to over look it but with each day a new surprise, a bald eagle over head, fly fisherman waist deep or kids playing under the bridge in the cooling currents. And your blog here about the boat will help remind so many that there are times we all need to just slow down with daily life...

That's would be a wonderful spot to wake up to every morning. I've thought about owning a place like that when I get the money. For now though, just have to take life one day at a time.

Really like your blog. I have a question...How do you get your posted pictures to appear larger? When I post pictures I can only post them in three sizes...small, medium, or large..and my large is shrimp sized compared to some of your larger pics. Am I missing something?

I lived in Chsristchurch Dorset for a year, and yes backing onto a river is wonderful. I am glad to see steady flow of visitors, and not just the usual suspects. Always winning shots and a pleasure to virtually stop by.

Climate change, I have to admit that I’m very skeptical about the existence of climate change and the whole global warming thing. I wrote this as part of the second days post: “365 different photos, I’m daunted and intrigued at the same time. Daunted with the task of taking the images and writing words to tie it all together and intrigued at what will be here in a year’s time. Will anybody see this? Will it make any sense?” 70,849 words, 367 photos, 3014 comments, and 43358 visitors from 164 countries later and it’s all done, I’m 42 and have the answer to those questions. Yes somebody has seen it and no it really does not make much sense, but that really does not seem to matter that much. I wanted to mark the passing of a year in my life and have ended up with a fantastic record of a year in both words and pictures. More than that it has changed my life, I have gained a confidence I never had, I can write without fear, my photography skill has improve and I realise that you can do nearly anything if you work at it. You known how it is, you’ve loads to do and not much time, but with a little luck and a bit of careful planning and you can fit it all in and than someone makes you BLOG OF NOTE!!!!!! WOW, Arghhhhhhhhhh!.
