Don't lurk, say Hi!

This is my 183rd post, ½ way, maybe not the light at the end of the tunnel, but certainly started on the homeward leg. 183 pictures, 50 pages of writing, 30500 words, 850 comments and 24700 visitors from 163 countries, when I started I expected to be read by a few friends and a dozen or so others who just happened by, I thought that it would be just about the photos and that it would be easy. How wrong, I find the photos harder and harder, last year I took about 24 good shots, ones I would be happy to put on the net, and did not think about that till after I had started this, taking photo is easy but taking good ones that are all different, to a time limit, is very hard. The writing that just started as a filler (well they give you so much space) has become as important to me as the photos and as enjoyable. The interaction with others from all over the world was a pleasure that was quite unlooked for (discussing English storms with someone in South Africa and in France at the same time was the first that sticks in my mind).

So on to the down ward slope, to day the picture is, fittingly, from the down ward part of our walk from the top of the old man of Coniston. It is part of the old mine workings and although a scar on the landscape I think that they are quite beautiful in their own way.

Hi Brett, superb shot, lovely choice of processing, has a HDR quality to it and I could look at it for hours. I remember Marlene on the Wall too.

Funny how things turn out! The communication between us all feels quite unique in a way and I don't think I could stop now. Maybe it's that curtain twitching gene in me!!
You're not going to stop at the end of your year though are you?

A scar, but in a way looks like it's healing. Great photo!

Though I just recently found your blog - I'm inspired by you every time I look at it!
I don't look at nature in the same way when I take my pics anymore, like I said - you're a true inspiration!

Not lurking - saying hi once more.

Very interesting shot Brett.
I always say "HI!" Love your work, love your writing, love your country!
I think this photo is a good one to write a story about. It is very emotional
183 posts! Well done Brett.

I too am constantly amazed that people have found my blog, have read it, and that they come back for more. So cool, and more than I ever expected.

Love the picture - and the choice of music, natch.

here's to the next 182....

you take beautiful photos
I never lurk. I can't keep even my virtual gob shut! I agree, this blogging world is extraordinary. I converse in French when I can on some sites. I have a steady circle of black humour going with others. I put the world to rights with some, have non sensical conversations with others. I am now known A Professor Babooshka, by my blog fans which is amusing, just because I take decent images and share advise. I hope after the year you continue in blog form someway. Where esle can get excellent music, images, adn modesty!
