Reap what you sow

I have just harvested my first potatoes and although they only fill ½ a bucket I’m still feeling quite smug. I grow them on the patio in lager polly bags that came as a kit complete with potatoes and full instructions, and watched with amazement as they proceeded to take over a ¼ of the space, I never knew how much green stuff came from the humble potato. I’ve still got 2 more containers to go so I hope there’s plenty more to come. There’s something incredible satisfying growing your own stuff (and eating it) it makes you feel more part of the planet, it certainly make you aware of the seasons and the weather, while giving you free-ish food (which I never turn my nose up at)

Its been 2 weeks since I was made Blog of note, and as yesterdays post shows I have been a bit swamped with all the attention (loving every second of it though), but because of that I have found loads of great blogs to read, at just the time, I’ve no time to read them. So over the next few days I am going to make a big effort to visit all the ones I’ve book marked and give them some quality time, then I will put the best on my blog list to share with you all.

Climate change, I have to admit that I’m very skeptical about the existence of climate change and the whole global warming thing. My basis for this is that we (humans) have only been here for such a short time and for a large period of that were not really in a position to judge what was happening around us. I wrote this as part of the second days post: “365 different photos, I’m daunted and intrigued at the same time. Daunted with the task of taking the images and writing words to tie it all together and intrigued at what will be here in a year’s time. Will anybody see this? Will it make any sense?” 70,849 words, 367 photos, 3014 comments, and 43358 visitors from 164 countries later and it’s all done, I’m 42 and have the answer to those questions. Yes somebody has seen it and no it really does not make much sense, but that really does not seem to matter that much. Have you ever put something off, that you really should have done, I have, getting assessed for dyslexia. Nearly my whole life I have had problems spelling, and have done every thing to avoid getting tested, why, because I was scared that I would not have it and be told I was just thick or lazy. Well yesterday I got tested, and the results surprised me. First I was informed that my reading ability was good to high, next I was informed that I have an IQ of over 120 (140 and over Genius or near genius 120-140 Very superior intelligence 110-120 Superior intelligence 90-110 Normal or average intelligence 80-90 Dullness 70-80 Borderline deficiency Below 70 Definite feeble-mindedness 70-80 Borderline deficiency 50-69 Moron 20-49 Imbecile below 20 Idiot.) They have changed the lower classification for a more PC wording but this is the original.
