By the book

I’ve had my camera for nearly 18 months (15,000 photos) and decided that it might be time to have a read of the instruction book. Like all owner manuals it is designed to be read before you even touch the thing and it only really makes any sense after you have been using the thing for a few months, it also seems to be written in that strange form of English that comes from a translation from Japanese (who am I to talk about strange forms of English). Still I have now identified 2 buttons that had got me stumped and have found some really cool controls on the in built flash.

I got an award last week from Suburbia, thank you very much, as with all awards there are certain rules to follow:
1. Link to the giver
2. Nominate up to seven (oops...) other fab blogs and link to them
3. Leave messages announcing their rise to greatness.
note - You may have been given this already, so that means you are a GREAT blogger
I would like to award this to the following fellow bloggers who are my daily reads no matter what, and cheer me up on a daily basis,

I only wish I could post every day! Thanks for the award, I'm very flattered that you're interested in what I write and like to read the blog.

I haven't been commenting much recently - been away on a short holiday and life gets in the way, but you probably know I'm a regular visitor here. I was very impressed with your 'Blogs of Note' status. Congratulations!
Well, I have three things to say today....

1. Thanks for the award and for coming to see me regularly! I love the award as much as I love your visits....please keep coming, and keep commenting....

2. This photo is amazing. It is not my kind of scene - I'd prefer something more urban - but it is absolutely the kind of photo that I wish I could take. Me so jealous.

3. As per, great choice of song. I love this song so much. When I was little I used to sing it with my Mom....her name is Sylvia and we used to change the line to say 'shine on Sylvia girl...'. I can barely listen to the song without tears these days!

Yes, I'm a big girl's blouse. Et alors?
I never read the manual until it's way to late. I am finding it harder to do the comments round now but am always stopping by.

Thank you so much! :)

Maybe I should look at the manual of my camera too... or maybe after all the deadlines are over.

Thanks for the award Brett, it is much appreciated, as are your visits to my blog. Absolutely love today's photo. And maybe I should read my camera manual too.

This photo took my breath away this morning. It is stunning! I thought immediately - oh! that's an award winner in itself!

What a perfect place to be and the song fits so well:)
Glad you liked the award. It's always hard to pass them on because some people don't like to get them and one never wants to offend!!
I hardly ever read instructions before having a go first! Husband gets very cross but I haven't broken anything yet ;)

aw gee thanks! i feel so honoured (i'm blushing).

You shot is breathtaking. It sends shivers down my spine! It makes me wonder why Canada doesn't have all these cool places to photograph.

P.S. I have given this award back to you, and not just because I'm being polite! You rock!
